Shereen C. Chen, Esq., practices immigration and nationality law. Her clients include professional athletes, opera stars, religious leaders, high net worth investors, health care employees, corporations, golf courses and resorts, and nonprofit organizations, including temples and shrines across the U.S.
Shereen focuses on corporate immigration matters, including employer corporate and I-9 compliance. She often works with corporations during a merger or acquisition, advising on immigration concerns in corporate restructuring and development of immigration procedures. Shereen advises human resource management on compliance and conducts audits for companies to ensure immigration compliance. She also handles individual cases including family-based petitions and naturalization.
She has also covered other immigration issues, including non-immigrant visas (E, H, I, L, O, P, Q and R). Shereen has experience with adjustment of status cases; extraordinary individuals with abilities in the arts, sciences, athletics or business; multinational executives; labor certification/PERM cases; naturalization; waivers; and exchange visitors.
Shereen frequently speaks on business immigration issues before bar associations, trade groups and human resource departments. Every year since 2008, Shereen has spoken at the Burlington County Law Day Ceremony where new U.S. citizens are recognized. Shereen has served as the keynote speaker in partnership with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (Mount Laurel, NJ office) for the Naturalization Ceremonies at the Mitchell Cohen Federal Courthouse in Camden, New Jersey.
Shereen was named a 2023 Woman To Watch by South Jersey Biz, one of 20 women in South Jersey making a difference in their community. Shereen received the 2022 Diversity in Business Award from the Philadelphia Business Journal, and in 2016 she received the New Jersey State Bar Professional Lawyer of the Year award from APALA. She was recently appointed as the representative for Burlington County on the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee (May 2023-2026).
Shereen graduated from Johns Hopkins University (B.A.1993) and the Rutgers University School of Law-Camden (J.D. 1996).
Born in Taipei, Taiwan, and immigrated to the U.S., she is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
